ACT and Region Group

  • The ACT and region group is based in Canberra. The group meets regularly in members' homes and around Canberra. Meetings include lunch, worship and discussion of Wellspring Spirituality and Justice Issues.

Friday 14 October, 6.30 - 8.45am.  ACT and Monaro Soroptimist International is hosting a fundraising breakfast at the QT Hotel, Canberra. Sunday 23 October 2-4pm. CORE is holding the sixth in the series of gatherings offering opportunities for First Nation speakers to share something of their life experience, vision and concern. The speaker will be Judith Kelly, a stolen generations survivor from Western Australia who stayed at the Aboriginal Tent Embassy for two years. Friends Meeeting House, Turner.

L'Arche seeks Home Stays. L'Arche Genesaret, a community in the Woden area for people with and without intellectual disabilities, relies on the generosity of young people, often from overseas, to spend a year in the community as Assistants (carers). They require a "home stay host" who can open their home for two days a week (e.g. 1pm Tuesdays to 1pm Thursdays) and four days a month (e.g. Monday to Friday) to enable an Assistant to have some re-creative time away. The requirements are simply a home where a single Assistant can relax, come and go, and have meals during their days away.
